Games for Windows Live Marketplace is set to get a revamp on PCs everywhere in November and offer PC gamers a line-up of games to purchase with promotions like Deal of the Week and other discounts promised as part of the service.
Apparently, using the new Games for Windows Live Marketplace will be a more streamlined experience, with simple navigation, faster downloads and more.
Here's a list of highlighted new features being touted for the forthcoming GFWL Marketplace update:
- Online access, anywhere. Optimised for speed, the store allows for ultra-fast downloads; this means fewer clicks to purchase and download, delivering faster turnaround for gameplay. And since the service lives on the web, gamers can download games on a PC, anytime, and can easily redownload games they purchase if needed.
- Deals and discounts galore. Gamers can check out screaming deals on select games every time they visit the Marketplace, as well as the Deal of The Week and other recurring and seasonal offers.
- Game search functionality. Gamers can search by titles or genres to quickly find the games they want; they can even find new games from their favourite publishers with dedicated publisher pages.
- Fresh design. The clean, intuitive look and feel makes browsing for games a simple, enjoyable experience. Gamers can easily navigate between pages as they search for the perfect game
The Games for Windows Live Marketplace will be relaunching with a portfolio of more than 100 titles including classics like Fable: The Lost Chapters, Deus Ex: GOTY Edition, Max Payne and Grand Theft Auto III, indie titles and blockbusters like Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2.
Microsoft has plans to bring its biggest franchises to the GFWL Marketplace in the near future, with Halo, Gears of War, Flight Simulator, Age of Empires Online, Zoo Tycoon, Microsoft Flight and Fable III all lined up for the servnce, which enables existing Live account holders to login and get buying with Microsoft Points (across both XBL and GFWL Marketplaces) and credit card purchasing.
